Ramesh Sharma has been living and learning with the rural and indigenous people of India since nearly 40 years now. He left doctoral studies in IIT Delhi to pour his energy into working with the tribals of Bastar, in his home state Chhattisgarh. He is the campaign coordinator of the largest non-violent movement in India, Ekta Parishad. Spanning 11 states, with 1100 community-based organisations. Ramesh is also a member of various groups such as the National Task Force for Land Reforms, the Central Enquiry Committee on Tribal Self Rule, and the National Land Reforms Committee. He has also delivered lectures on people, nature, economics and life in India at Cambridge University, the London School of Economics, and Oxford University as well as the British Parliamentary Committee.
